NORTHERN GOVERNORS FELICITATE WITH SENATE PRESIDENT, AHMAD LAWAN AT 61

Governor Lalong made this known through a press statement by his press secretary Dr Makut Simon Macham, Lalong describe Sen Lawal as a great legend with the heart of the masses, it could be recall that it was during his time as Sen President that the budget was past on time, for effectiveness and for the growth of the nation’s economy and the well being of his citizens.Chairman of the Northern Governors Forum and Governor of Plateau State Rt. Hon. Simon Bako Lalong has on behalf the 19 Governors and the entire people of the region congratulated Senate President, Dr. Ahmad Ibrahim Lawan on his 61st birthday.
Governor Lalong in a message rejoiced with the Senate President for attaining the age of 61 and contributing immensely to the political development of the nation through his many years of service at the legislature and elsewhere.
“You are one of the shining examples of the North as you have lived a life of patriotism, and dedication promoting values of unity, peace and progress in your approach to crucial national issues particularly in the legislature. We are happy that you are leading the National Assembly with dignity, commitment and integrity putting national interests above all other considerations” he said.
Governor Lalong also expressed belief that Senator Lawan’s leadership of the ninth National Assembly will provide the much needed win-win synergy that is necessary for a harmonious relationship with the Executive and the Judiciary which will fast track in bringing the dividends of democracy to Nigerians.
He assured the Senate President of the continuous support of the Northern Governors Forum and the people of the region in ensuring that he provides the needed leadership that will enable him lead the national legislature to passing historic legislations that will make life easier for the Nigerians.
He wished Senator Lawan good health and God’s favour in the years ahead.

Lalong Inspects Neibourhood Security Facilities In Dutse Uku

CONSOLIDATING PEACE ON THE PLATEAU – GOVERNOR LALONG INSPECTS NEIGBOURHOOD SECURITY FACILITY & WATCHTOWER IN DUTSE UKU

In a bid to strengthen the security architecture in Plateau State and consolidate on the peace that is currently experienced, Plateau State Governor has inspected the on-going construction of the first neighbourhood security watch tower at Dutse Uku in Jos North Local Government Area.
Governor Lalong who arrived the site amidst a rousing welcome by residents of the area was briefed on the concept of the neighbourhood security watch tower by the Permanent Secretary, Cabinet and Special Services Mr. Cornelius Shiolbial who explained that the project is geared at ensuring that there is an early warning system to pre-empt conflicts and nip them in the bud.

Shiolbial said “Your Excellency, the idea behind this is to have a permanent security presence here that consists of security personnel and representatives of the community who will be working hand in hand to ensure that the whole area is under surveillance and any threat to peace is detected and dealt with on time. The structure here provides offices, watch facilities and a conference hall where they can meet and analyse whatever is observed and possibly diffuse any tension”.
He told the Governor that the security team headed by the Operation Rainbow will run shifts and use the watchtower which is well positioned to observe large parts of the City.
Governor Lalong commended the initiative and said it was necessary as the Government continues to make progress in consolidating peace by strengthening the security architecture for efficient and timely response. He also commended the quality of work which is being handled through direct labour using staff of the Ministry of Housing and
Lalong said “We are happy that today there is more understanding among the people today where everyone recognizes the importance of peace, reconciliation and harmony. We have to work together to promote good neigbourliness, tolerance and peaceful coexistence. This initiative will help us address issues before they escalate and ensure that criminals are not allowed to again cause strife among the people”.
The Governor assured the people that the Rescue Administration will continue to encourage every effort that will ensure that the ugly crises of the past remains a thing of the past.
He warned all trouble makers to stay away from the State because the Government will not hesitate to deal decisively with anyone found causing disharmony or beating the drums of war.
“I climbed up to the tower and could see almost all parts of the City of Jos. This should tell those who are criminally minded that I will be watching you and send the security agencies to track you down and get you arrested. We have done a lot to ensure that people live in peace and nobody will be allowed to change that” he said.
While thanking the people for supporting his administration and remaining law abiding, Governor Lalong explained that the government will set up more of such watchtowers and posts in key flashpoints once the pilot scheme is completed in Dutse Uku area.
The Adagwom Izere of Jos His Royal Highness, Ada Emmanuel Azik appreciated the Governor for fulfilling his campaign promises by building infrastructure and also pursuing the path of peace and progress of the State.
He promised the continued support of his subjects to the government to enable it discharge its responsibilities to the citizenry.

Lalong Visit Attacked Community In Mangu LGA, Calls For Calm

GOVERNOR LALONG VISITS ATTACKED COMMUNITY IN MANGU LGA, CALLS FOR CALM AS HE ADVISES AGAINST REPRISAL.

Plateau State Governor Rt. Hon. Simon Bako Lalong on Thursday 8th January 2019 cancelled all his schedules which included a planned tour of road project sites to visit Kunben village in Kombun district of Mangu Local Government following an attack by gunmen which claimed the lives of innocent citizens.
Governor Lalong in company of the Deputy Governor Prof. Sonny Tyoden, Operation Safe Haven Commander Gen. Augustine Agundu and other service chiefs in the State visited the village where he commiserated with them and assured that the security agencies are already working on unraveling those behind this heinous crime.
According to the Governor, “we are saddened by this attack which is the work of evil criminals and has the tendency to interrupt our new year if we allow it. That is why I abandoned everything to personally come here and share your pains and to assure you that we will not allow the enemies of Plateau State to take us back to the era of violence which we have already put behind us”
He appealed for calm and understanding of the people of affected village and the entire Local Government saying “what has happened is painful, but I am appealing to you for patience and forgiveness. Those behind this will be made to face the full weight of the law as we will not rest until they are caught and made to face justice”.
District head of Kombun Audu Tetmut told the Governor that the community was still in shock and grief as they cannot understand the motive behind the attack when they have no problems with anybody. He said they have submitted everything to God and believe that the Governor’s visit and assurances will ensure that they get justice.
The representative of the fulani community in the area Ya’u Yusuf also condemned the attack and asked everyone to cooperate with the security agencies to get those behind this ugly incident.
Governor Lalong was also at the palace of the Mishkaham Mwagavul Da. Nelson Bakfur in Mangu town to commiserate with him over the incident. He appealed to him to continue to keep peace in his domain.

He commended security agencies for arresting 7 suspects connected to the killings and restoring normalcy to the area. Lalong assured that thorough investigations will be carried out to get to the bottom of the matter as anyone found wanting will face the full wrath of the law.
The Governor called for calm and advised against reprisals as Government is dealing with the situation.
Those injured have been taken to general hospital Mangu and are responding to treatment.

Hon commissioner land and survey and town planning Yakubu Dati has on Tuesday embark on an awareness campaign and also move with the entire management staff of the ministry on the operation pay your land dues, the operation started at Ahmadu Bella way at about 10:am

The ministry has a list of defaulted organizations which have affected the ministry revenue for the past 15 years, and in line with the development plan of the lalong rescue administration and also for the ministry to be fully active on the issues of paying of the lands dues which is popularly called land rate on any property that has a C of O, and papers,
The Hon commissioner and his team first visited EcoBank which is situated at Ahmadu bello way, and met the head and the regional manager of the Bank the visit was a friendly and to formally present the letters containing the defaulted land dues by the Bank, it was a move to recover all the lost revenue the ministry has suffered do to none complaint by the bank and to meet the ministry target of five hundred million (500,000000) Hon Dati who presented the letter himself to the regional manager express disactisfaction for the none payment of the the land dues and that is why he brought the letters himself.
EcoBank in jos Metropoulos and other branches has not paid the land due the ground rate for over 10 years as the commissioner ask them to pay to avoid the ministry taking action as it is already guided by the law and he see no reason why the none complaint.
The permanent secretary of the ministry who was also present also explain to the organization the penalty for the defaulted organization as government is taking a strict measures to recover her revenue and let them not be found wanted, in response by the head of the bank the apologize and promise to forward it to their head office and also promise that payment will be made soon as soon as the get clearance from the head office.
The second place visited was Access Bank at Ahmadu bello way the letter was also given the regional manager and other management staff present, Access who are also in arrears of Over 15 years where also asked to clear all their land dues, ground rate as soon as possible.
Hon Dati in an interview said on assumption of office he discovered that many businesses and organization are not paying their ground rates and that has affected the ministry revenue drastically that was what inform the operation of the whole management staff going out themselves including the permanent secretary to give the letters and ask why the none complaint.
Hon Dati said the revenue the government generate is what the use for developmental project such like roads and the solar street lights and many other things but if no revenue how can the government achieve all her plans, and he all use the opportunity to call on the good people of plateau state to take advantage of the 50% discounts on certificate of occupancy (C of O) by his excellency Rt Hon Simon Bako Lalong and also call on them to come as government have approved 7new layouts and is given to contractors with all the necessary paperwork with land titles, the should come and pay to benefit from the great opportunity and this is the first time such a thing is happening.
On the revenue generation Hon Dati also promise to generate over five hundred million (500,000000) to the state from the ministry to help on the 5 pillar policies of his excellency Simon Lolong as part of their efforts.

Lalong Congratulates Pauline Tallen At 61

GOVERNOR LALONG GREETS DAME PAULINE TALLEN AT 61,

Plateau State Governor Rt. Hon. Simon Bako Lalong felicitates with the Minister of Women Affairs and Social Development, Dame Pauline Tallen at 61.
Governor Lalong in a message congratulates Dame Tallen for attaining the age of 61 and contributing immensely to humanity.
“Dame Tallen’s achievements over the years are enormous and characterized by selfless service, dedication and determination to impact positively on others while carrying out every assignment with diligence and excellence” the Governor adds.
Lalong thanks Dame Tallen for making impactful contributions to the lives of the people of Plateau in particular, and Nigeria in general throughout her political career and service in other sectors spanning many decades.
He says her present position as the Minister of Women Affairs and Social Development again gives her the opportunity to make the best of her new age in addressing issues relating to the girl-child, womenfolk, and the less privileged in Nigeria.
The Governor wishes her well and prays that God will grant her more years of good health, wisdom and abundance to continue impacting positively on society.

LATE COCIN PRESIDENT ALEXANDER NANMIAP LAR: WE HAVE LOST A GREAT MAN – GOVERNOR LALONG

Plateau State Governor Rt. Hon. Simon Bako Lalong says he received the news of the death of Rev. Dr. Alexander Mamdip Lar, former COCIN President and Chairman, Board of Trustees with shock and sadness.
Governor Lalong in a condolence message described the death of the reverred clergyman as a great loss not only to his immediate family, COCIN Church and the Christian Community, but the entire Plateau State and the nation.
He said “The late Rev. Dr. Lar lived a life full of love, honesty, compassion and justice. He fought the good fight of faith by preaching the gospel of Christ fearlessly and living in tandem with the faith he professed. He left behind enduring legacies that will continue to resound for a long time”.
Lalong while consoling the family of the deceased, urged them to take solace in the fact that the Late Rev. Dr. Lar fulfilled his mission on earth and contributed to building the Church on the Plateau and Nigeria as a whole.
He said Plateau State will miss his wealth of wisdom, experience and Godly counsel which he had offered relentlessly over the years.
