LOCAL GOVERNMENT NOT AN HINDRANCE TO THE SOCIAL INVESTMENT PROGRAMME SAYS HON EZEKIEL VULGAP.

Local government not hindrances to SIP says ALGON chairman Hon Ezekiel Vulgap the executive chairman of Mikan LGA, Vulgap made this known in an interview with journalist at the ALGON office in jos the plateau state capital, he said the local government are ever ready to assist and cooperate with the focal person Dr Sumaye Hamza the special assistant to the governor on SIP, and also the programme because they are the direct beneficiaries.

He said in the area’s of the school feeding programme the local government chairmen have contributed alot by supplying of bowls spoons and other materials, and also the the local government ensure that the monitor the whole activities of the school feeding programme and the food the children eat and make sure the right meal are given to them and mostly the local meals and nutritional meals that are familiar with them, he said all this is the local government staffs that help to monitor.
Vulgap also said in times of data collection and capturing is the local government that also assist the staff of the social investment programme (SIP ) to get the targeted people the programme is targeted at, he lament that he was shocked to hear news going round saying local government are the hindrances to social investment programme (SIP) he reiterate that all the programmes training workshops organised by the social investment programme (SIP) they have been attending with other local government chairmen, and some of the LGA’S chairmen have contributed some motorcycle to enable the SIP staff to access difficult areas, and some Helux are provided so he wonder where the are a hindrance to the programme he also said they are the once close to the grassroots and the programme is targeted to the grassroots, that is the local governments.
Hon Ezekiel Vulgap also use the opportunity to commend Dr Sumaye Hamza for her efforts to ensure the programme reach down to the grassroots, he said it was her efforts that inform the decision for addition of more local government, for the households uplifting programme that has 3 major component and he said the LGA’s are the most important link to benefit and also empower them and get them out of poverty.

Hon Vulgap who also said they are working tirelessly and Closely with the focal person Dr Sumaye Hamza and about 43,000 households and additional 19,000 households are to benefit in the up coming exercise, he also use the opportunity to congratulate his excellency Rt Hon Simon Bako Lalong for is well deserved victory at the Supreme Court, that confirmed his victory he said indeed the voice of the people of plateau has spoken and his mandate was given to him by the good people of plateau state, he also call on all the political parties to come and join hands together and build the plateau of our dream, and in line with the 3 pillar policies of his excellency the state will move to greater heights and he also promise his excellency Rt Hon Simon Bako Lalong of their maximum cooperation and support.
