CHAIRMAN NORTHERN GOVERNOR’S FORUM VISITS KENYA
Governor Lalong is set to revive the jos wildlife park as he visits Kenya, the director of press to the governor Dr Makut Simon Macham made this known as he said Lalong is set to change the fortune of the state tourism potentials that was what inform the governor to travel to Kenya as Kenya is known for his tourism,wildlife like the safari and hosts of others, equally here in plateau the jos wildlife park is one of a kind well space to contain different types and kinds of animals, the visit to Kenya will help to bring investors into the state tourism sector, as the state is already bless with tourist sides and good environment and weather to boost the tourism potentials in the state, as this is part of the 3 pilar policies of the government of Rt Hon Simon Bako Lalong.Chairman of the Northern Governors Forum and Plateau State Governor Rt. Hon. Simon Bako Lalong is in Kenya for a peer review meeting with the Kenyan Council of Governors.
Governor Lalong who arrived Nairobi Kenya on Sunday 3rd November 2019 was recieved at the airport by the Governor of Kericho County Prof. Paul Chepkwony and Nigerian High Commissioner to Kenya Amb. Shiedu Omeiza Momoh at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport.
Governor Lalong met the Chairman of the Kenyan Council Of Governors His Excellency Wycliffe Ambesta Oparanga where they explored areas of collaboration and investment opportunities for the Northern States in general and Plateau State in particular.
Governor Lalong who is accompanied by the Secretary to the Government of Plateau State Prof. Danladi Abok Atu will meet other Governors to discuss issues relating to tourism development, agriculture, city management and revenue generation among others.
The Governor will use the visit to also talk to some investors about the forthcoming Plateau Economic and Investment Summit which is being planned to open up the state to the rest of the world.
Plateau State shares some areas of common interest with Kenya in athletics, tourist attractions, Clament weather and vast agricultural potentials.
There will also be discussions about tea farming and production, flower production as well as mining.
The Governor in company of Governor Paul Chepkwony of Kericho also visited the Nairobi National Park where he spoke of his determination to restock the Jos wildlife park by bringing in more animals to make more tourists attracted to the facility.
He also wants to get investors that could take interest in the various game reserves in the State which are not effective at the moment.
